Meeting of Joint  committee for Wage Revision held today on 22/03/2024

A meeting of the Joint Committee for wage revision of Non-Execurive employees is held on 22/03/2024. The discussions held in the last meeting were carried forward. Some live cases of stagnation has been examined and accordingly the scale proposed by the management needs to be changed to some extent. The remaining stagnation issue is also being considered.Some part of the conversation in the meeting is as follows

1. We demanded for standard pay scale for non executives but Management is not agreeing because pension contribution will increase. Currently pension contribution for Non-Executives is about 66 cr and after pay revision according to the scale proposed by management it will be approx 175 cr. 

On the other hand, no one has any problem with the increase in pension contribution of executives that will increase from 95 cr to 345 cr after revision as the Executives pay scale is in the multiplication factor Approx 2.45 and more.

2. Pay scale has been designed randomly, we have demanded similarity in each scale And after that, for not reducing the minimum of NE9 from 35400, because JE is the youngest and most working cadre, you cannot ignore it. But Management not agreeing. 

3. 90 to 95% stagnation may be settled without any arrear . We have again requested to consider to remove stagnation upto 2029 , So that the scale can be increased to some extent and then it can be further increased to NE9 but even in that they are considering till year 2026 only.

4. Working employees will not get arrear but BSNL have to pay arrear from 01.01.2017 on maximum of scale for pension contribution. 

5. For stagnation scale may be changed but for the little benefit of JEs management is not agreeing.

6. Three factors are being considered for scale formation,  lower the upper limit of scale as much as possible, Settlement of stagnation upto 90 to 95%,  Number of stages should not be less but what about us nothing….

7. HRA and other allowances will not be revised.

8.  The agreement will not be approved until a new government is formed.

The way the management is talking, its not possible to sign the agreement. If there is any pay loss occurs on that payscale then it will be discussed in the next meeting, management said.

We(JEs) are working a lot,  we are taking all the responsibilities for the sake of our department but no one is ready to accept this.

Think again and again and act accordingly. We have to show our unity .
